Jesus Begins to Preach

Commentary
Jesus begins to preach following His baptism and
temptation. It is no coincidence that His ministry does
not overlap that of John the Baptist as he begins shortly after
John is thrown into prison. John's mission was to prepare
the way for Jesus and as Jesus is ready to begin His ministry,
John's mission is concluded.
It is also not a coincidence that Jesus' message
is the same of John's. It is a message of repentance that
is applicable for all ministries and all situations. Jesus
would preach the message in a different way than John but it was
still the same message, just in a different form.
