The Disciples Rejoin Jesus

John 4:27-38
Commentary
The disciples return to Jesus after He has
spoken to the Samaritan woman at the well. The woman goes
off to tell everyone about Jesus.
In the meantime, the disciples implore Jesus to
eat something but He refuses them. Instead, Jesus is
rejuvenated by doing the work of God.
Jesus instructs the disciples that there is much
work to do as the fields are ripe for the harvest. The
fields that Jesus speaks of are the mission field. Jesus
has sown the seed for eternal life. He has done the
difficult part. All that the disciples are required to do
is to harvest what has grown.
